(Treynor) One night after claiming the Western Iowa Conference championship outright, the Treynor Cardinal girls basketball team beat Clarinda Saturday 60-44. The win is the 8th in a row for a Treynor group that is now 19-2. The lone losses have come to Harlan in the season opener and Abraham Lincoln on January 12th.
Tracy Purdy poured in a team-high 17 points Saturday night. The junior guard knocked down four three-pointers. A 25-12 Treynor advantage in the fourth quarter turned a close game into a double-digit win.
At 19-2, Treynor will get in one more non-conference test to try and help them prepare for the postseason. They take on a 12-7 Kuemper squad in Treynor on Tuesday.
