(Audubon) Audubon downed Griswold 43-37 Friday night in girls basketball. The Wheelers led by double figures for the majority of the game until Griswold fired back from 17 down in the fourth quarter.
A two point second quarter is was dug the Tigers into a deep whole, but they were able cut the deficit to 12 with a 6-2 run late in the third. The momentum carried over into the fourth, but it happened to be too little too late.
Emily Nelsen led Audubon with 14 points and Susie Bylund scored 11. Nelsen helped turn a one point game after the first quarter into a 21-9 halftime lead for the Wheelers with 8 points in the second quarter. Bylund hit a big three at the third quarter buzzer to help extend Audubon's lead. Griswold was led in scoring by Marquel Brunk and Jordyn Sindt who eached scored 12 points. Trisha Huerta scored all 8 of her points in the second half to help aid the comeback attempt that ran out of time for the Tigers.
Audubon improves to 11-8 on the season. Griswold drops to 9-11.
