(Manning) In a game that was very close throughout the first three quarters, IKM-Manning pulled away from Ar-We-Va in the fourth quarter to advance to the championship game of the Western Valley Conference Girls Basketball Tournament.
Five different Wolves finished in double figures to lead IKM-Manning past Ar-We-Va 79-65. Morgan Muhlbauer led all scoreres in the game with 17 points. Kali Rasmussen and Kaylee Blake each added 16. Also scoring in double figures were Kenzie Cast (13) and Joedy Hagendorn (11).
IKM-Manning led by just two heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored Ar-We-Va 23-11 over the final 8 minutes.
The win puts the Wolves at 19-0 on the season. They are one of just three teams in the state to be undefeated with North Linn and Adair-Casey being the other two unblemished squads.
The championship game brings an exciting rematch with Lawton-Bronson. Lawton-Bronson comes in at 20-1 and they have played IKM-Manning as close as anyone has all season. IKM-Manning came from behind to win in overtime 67-65 when the two teams played in the regular season on January 10th. Lawton-Bronson breezed into the championship game with 67-39 win over OA-BCIG last night. 19-0 IKM-Manning plays 20-1 Lawton-Bronson for the Western Valley Conference Girls Basketball Tournament Championship on Saturday in Ida Grove.
