(Anita) Trevor McKee led the team with 16 points and Michael Holste scored 10, but it was the defense of Brady Runyan that drew the praise of CAM had coach Brian Fogleman following the Cougars 49-25 win over Exira-EHK.
Runyan held Spartan leading scorer Cole Anderson to just one point and made several hustle plays in the win. He also scored 7 points in the win. CAM never trailed in the game but Exira-EHK kept it close throughout the first half. The Spartans tied the game at 17 late in the first half before CAM took a 19-17 advantage at the break. The Cougars took over in the second half with a 5-0 run to start the third quarter and a 10-0 run to start the fourth. A Michael Holste three-pointer midway through the fourth put the game out of reach at 40-23. CAM continued to build their lead the rest of the game allowing just 8 second half points.
Exira-EHK was led in scoring by Brady Drees with 8 and Nick Mardesen with 7.
