(Griswold) AHST hung on for a 51-49 win at Griswold Friday night. The game was back and forth in the final minutes.
The Vikings led by double-digits for most of the game a Griswold rally late in the third quarter and into the fourth made things interesting down the stretch. AHST never gave up the lead, but Griswold did tie the game on multiple occassions. Griswold's Mason Boucher got an offense rebound and converted a reverse layup with ten secons left to knot the game at 49. That's when AHST inbounded the ball to half court to break Griswold's full court press. Drew Young caught the pass and went to work, backing his way towards the bucket and laying one in with two seconds left. A desperation heave from halfcourt by Griswold was no good. Young's game winning bucket gave him 14 points for the game. He scored six points in the final three minutes of the game.
AHST improves to 7-6 while Griswold falls to 3-9. It was an impressive comeback attempt for the Tigers who scored just 13 points in the first half but had 36 points in the second half.
