(Manning) Only two schools in the entire state of Iowa have an undefeated girls basketball team AND and an undefeated boys basketball team. That statistic will change after IKM-Manning and Lawton-Bronson get together for a basketball doubleheader in Ida Grove Thursday night.
The IKM-Manning and Lawton-Bronson girls and boys basketball team are a combined 47-0 in high school basketball this season. Let's start with the IKM-Manning girls who are averaging 86.5 points per game over their last six contests. The Wolves sport an average margin of victory this season of 41.3 but Lawton-Bronson's average margin of victory is quite similar at 38.8. The Eagles have put up over 90 points in three straight games including a 107 point showing against West Monona.
The boys teams are equally as impressive. IKM-Manning averages 73.6 points per game, including 81.3 over their last half dozen contests. Lawton-Bronson brings to the table one of the best defenses in Class 2A. Opponents have only topped the 50 point mark one time this season, the Eagles sport a defensive average of 34.8
One thing that is for sure when it comes to this super doubleheader matchup is that the remaining teams in the conference can be glad it's not their turn to play IKM-Manning or Lawton-Bronson.
