(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley stayed perfect on the season in boys basketball with an 80-32 win over Bedford on Tuesday. It was the Wolverines final game before the holiday break.
Nodaway Valley used a 22-0 second quarter run to take control against Bedford and win their seventh straight. Brad Baudler scored 20 points and the senior’s offensive output has been a major part of the undefeated start. Baudler’s point per game average is up nearly 10 points from last year.
Coach Darrell Burmeister reflects on his teams first seven games by pointing to their consistency on defense. The 24 ppg allowed is the lowest of any team Burmeister has had.. The team ranks second best in Class 2A in points allowed.
Nodaway Valley will scrimmage some very quality opponents over the break. They’ll get the opportunity to see Harlan, Dallas Center-Grimes, and IKM-Manning just to name a few.
Unbeaten Nodaway Valley will have perhaps their toughest test to date immediately following the break. The Wolverines are set to take on unbeaten Pleasantville on Friday, January 4th.
