(Neola) Tri-Center improves to 5-1 in girls basketball with a 73-42 win at Riverside Friday. The Trojans put the pressure on early and left little down from the very beginning. Coming off of quality wins against Missouri Valley and Audubon, Coach Julius Michalik had mentioned before that game that the key was to come out with intensity and not have a letdown game.
The start of the game certainly went in Tri-Center's favor as they got off to a 24-8 lead after one quarter and continued to add to their lead the rest of the game. Emily Baatz knocked down four three-pointers to finish with 19 points. Shelby Sullivan adden 14 and Nikki Paulsen contributed 12. The high scorer for Riverside was Sheyenne Smith who had 17 of her 23 points in the second half.
Tri-Center will take on Griswold and AHST next week ahead of the holiday break. 2-4 Riverside has three games remaining before Christmas.
