(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley stays perfect with a 58-26 win over conference nemesis Mount Ayr on Tuesday. Alex Welsch posted 24 points and 16 rebounds to aid the Wolverines to their fifth straight win to start the season.

Nodaway Valley head coach Darrell Burmeister says Mount Ayr was a good test for his team and explains that defensively a triangle and two was used to hold Mount Ayr's top scorers in check.

Overall this season the Wolverines are off to a fantastic start. They average 80.8 points per game offensively while only allowing 20.6 per game. They will take on Martensdale-St. Marys on Friday. Coach Burmeister says he expects a high scoring game.
