(Griswold) The Griswold boys basketball team is off to a 1-0 start in conference play. The Tigers edged AHST 55-49 on Tuesday.
Coach Chad Rodgers says his team came out flat to start the game but picked up the intensity later on. Once the team did get going they reeled off a big second half run, 20-2, to turn the tide. Coach Rodgers credits their pressure defense, led by Tyrel Peters, Grant Haynes, Devin Bates, and Jacob Maass, for turning things around. The win was a big one for Griswold to get with a tough schedule ahead.
The Tigers oppose Western Iowa Conference powers Riverside and Treynor their next two times out.
