(Griswold) Devin Bates scored 23 points and Grant Haynes added 15 more in Griswold's boys basketball win over Corning on Thursday. The duo combined for 28 first half points to get the Tigers off to a good start. Griswold would go on to lead by 22 at halftime on their way to the 57-38 win.
The victory evens Griswold's win-loss record at 1-1. The Tiger's play their third game of the week against Villisca, at home, tonight.
Ryan Carlson led the scoring effort for Corning with 11. The Red Raiders have to replace their top seven players in last year's rotation. They fall to 0-1 on the season and will play Mount Ayr on Friday.
