(Harlan) Harlan moves onto a class 4A Regional Final with a straight sets victory over Perry last night.
The Harlan Cyclones notched a school record 31st victory of the season with their sweep of Perry. Harlan came out firing in set one with a 25-6 win and never looked back. The Cyclones topped Perry 25-14 in set two and 25-12 in set three to polish off the victory.
After the match Harlan head coach Angie Spangenberg commented on her team’s performance saying they passed the ball well. She noted that her team was eager to get back on the floor after a nine day layoff between the regular season and regional tournament.
Harlan senior Lauren Larsen says the team focused on serving during that span and that it was evident on the court Thursday night. She says the team is already looking forward to getting back on the floor in the regional finals.
3rd ranked Harlan improves to 31-5 and ends Perry’s season at 20-18. In the regional final Harlan will match up with a 9-16 Dallas Center Grimes team that swept Winterset last night. The match will air on KSOM on Tuesday, October 30th.
