(Griswold) Back in the playoffs for the first time since 2009 the Griswold Tigers are moving on to the second round. The Tigers picked up a convincing first round victory 46-0 over Woodward Academy.
Fueling the win was another fantastic defensive showing. The defense is only allowing 12.2 points per game this season, including just 8.4 allowed over the past five weeks. Josh Metheny and Collin Fast each posted 9 tackles in the win. Metheny and Mason Anstey each recovered fumbles.
Offensively Griswold picked up 469 of their 479 yards from the running game. Leading the way was Taylor Briles with 191 yards and not far behind was Kenneth Clary with 182 yards.
Griswold takes on Woodward-Granger in the second round at Woodward. Griswold is 7-3. Woodward-Granger is 10-0.
