(Audubon) The Audubon Wheelers entered Week 9 knowing that they needed to win big and get some help from other teams to make the playoffs. Audubon took care of their end of the deal with a 52-21 win over Earlham and got the help they needed from Woodward-Granger beating Bedford to knock the Bulldogs out of the playoff race.
Riley Jones ran for 136 yards and one touchdown on 19 attempts. Jesse Svoboda added 98 yards on the ground. Trevor Smith passed for 186 yards including 6 completions to Lucas Smith-Petersen for 87 yards and a touchdown. Matt Fett and Lucas Smith-Peterson led the defense with 12 tackles each.
Audubon has won 4 of their last 5 games after starting the season just 1-3. The 5-4 Wheelers draw 8-1 Logan-Magnolia in the first round on Wednesday.
