(Bedford) The Class A District 7 playoff picture continues to be cloudy. Previously ranked Martensdale-St Marys and Madrid each suffered losses in Week 6 which appears to make things look even more wide open for the four playoff spots.
The Martensdale St Mary's Week 6 loss came to a Bedford team that is now tied for second in the district with a 3-1 mark. It was big bounce back win for the Bulldogs as it came just one week after their 42-43 overtime loss.
Cole Bonde ran for 174 of Bedford's 251 rushing yards. Sophomore Noah Thornton led th defensive effort with a team high 16 tackles. All three of Bedford's wins this season have been by one score.
The win was key for Bedford's playoff positioning because the Bulldogs still have two of the district's top teams on the schedule. Woodward-Granger leads the pack while Madrid and Bedford are tied for second place. Woodward-Academy and Audubon each have a pair of district losses. Earlham and Martensdale-St Marys will need some help to get in with three district losses so far.
