(Red Oak) Rebekah Topham and Jordyn Sindt finished 1-2 once again to lead the Griswold girls cross country team to another team title. Griswold narrowly topped Harlan 52 to 55. Outside of Topham and Sindt leading the pack, sophomore Alyx Flippin (pictured) placed 8th and Allison Young was 10th. The final scoring runner for Griswold was Jeana Freund who placed 31st.
“The Red Oak course is the toughest we run all year and I was really pleased how the girls handled the difficult course. Finishing 4 girls in the top 10 was huge for us along with outstanding performances from our newcomers Freund and Lappe,” shares Coach Jane Chaillie.
On the boys side the Tigers were led by Jacob Maass who placed in the 21st spot. Close behind was Xavier Olivio in 23rd place.
The Griswold cross-country squads will compete again on Saturday in Carroll at Swan Lake.
