(Harlan) The Harlan Cyclone football team lost three regular season games last year which came as a surprise to many football fans throughout the state. During the postseason however the Cyclones responded with playoff wins over Bishop Heelan Catholic, Spencer, and Boyden-Hull Rock Valley to 'Silence the doubters' in the words of Coach Curt Bladt. With the state's #1 passing attack Harlan made it all the way to the state semi-finals where they were ousted by Decorah.

Heading into this season Coach Bladt says the team will be a little bit different. Gone are all-district quartberack Zach Osborn and his top targets in Lucas Musich and Ben Bruck. Coach Bladt explains that he will, "Adapt a little bit and try and put them in a position to be successful."

Harlan's 2012 season opens up with an opportunity to avenge one of their four total losses from 2011. Harlan will play Denison-Schleswig in Week 1.
