(Iowa City) Iowa Native and 1972 Olympic Gold Medalist Dan Gable is heading into the International Wrestling Hall of Fame this weekend. The event coincides with the start of wrestling competition at the 2012 London Olympics. The legendary former wrestling coach at the University of Iowa didn’t give up a single point on his way to the gold medal at 149.5 pounds in the ’72 Olympic Games. Gable is the seventh America to go into the International Wrestling Hall of Fame and just the 3rd person from any country to be enshrined in the ‘Legends’ category. Gable is already a member of the US Wrestling Hall of Fame and United States Olympic Hall of Fame.
