(Coon Rapids) Shortstop Brett Carstens had two runs scored and a pair of RBI's while teammate Gage Reis struck out six batters in a three-hit shutout to lead Coon Rapids-Bayard past Audubon 4-0. The game went scoreless through the first four and a half innings but then Carstens was hit by a pitch to lead off the fifth inning. Carsten's advanced to 3rd on two wild pitches and came home on a Brendan McAlister bunt. Coon Rapids-Bayard would add breathing room in the sixth inning when they took advantage of two Audubon errors and scored three runs.

Crusader Senior Gage Reis (pictured) was able to work out of trouble several times throughout the night. Audubon stranded eight baserunners during the course of the game.

The Wheelers fall to 14-11 and now turn their focus to 2013. Coon Rapids-Bayard is still alive in the tournament heading into the district final Saturday night against Exira-EHK.
