(Anita) After suffering a tough extra-innings loss on Tuesday, the CAM basaeball team bounced back with a win over rival Adair-Casey on Thursday.

The CAM Cougar baseball team sweeps the season series with the Adair-Casey Bombers. In a game that featured three ties, four lead changes, nine hits, thirteen walks, and seven hit batters CAM defeated Adair-Casey 9-7. CAM scored two runs in the first and Adair-Casey scored three runs in the third. CAM evened things at three runs apiece after three innings only to see Adair-Casey reclaim the lead at 5-3 after four and a half. The bottom of the fifth inning was the most productive of any frame on the night. CAM got a four run fifth on three walks, one hit batter, one error, and one hit.



Cougar Catcher Matt Williamson (pictured above) picked up one of his game high three RBI’s in that fifth inning as CAM took a 7-5 advantage. Adair-Casey didn’t take long to respond with Blake Leonard and C.J. Rochholz each scoring runs in the top of the 6th to knot the game at 7. In the bottom of the 6th. Jarrad Cavin and Trevor McKee each scored to give cam the 9-7 lead going into the seventh inning. Senior Tanner Brown pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to shut the door on Adair-Casey who loses their third straight game. Adair-Casey drops to 7-12 while CAM moves to 12-5.
