(Atlantic) With two weeks left in the regular season the Hawkeye Ten Conference race is shaping up to be a real dog fight. Harlan moved up a notch in the standings after knocking off Atlantic 5-0 Monday night. The Cyclones are now tied for second with the Trojans with just three losses and each team is just one game away from league leading Glenwood.
Harlan pitcher Josh Bruck pitched a shutout. He struck out 11-batters while allowing just two hits. Blake Esbeck and Austin Conrad had the only base knocks for (14-6) Atlantic, who travel to (12-14) Lewis Central tonight.
The Cyclones scored a run in the first inning on Ben Bruck's RBI single and added two more runs in the fourth, and two in the fifth. Six of the nine Harlan batters accounted for the teams nine hits. Zach Osborn, Cale Stork and Derek Leinen had two hits for Harlan. David Ratigan, Denny Kramer, and Ben Bruck each singled for the Cyclones who host Tri-Center tonight.
