(Atlantic) Atlantic topped Harlan 2-1 in high school softball to improve to 18-13 on the season. Harlan falls to 23-8 with the loss.
Atlantic trailed 1-0 early but scored one run in the fourth to tie the game and took the lead in the sixth inning. Mollee Welter contributed both RBI's while ReAnn Cappel had two of the team's seven hits.
Marissa Berns pitched all seven innings for the win. Berns gave up four hits and one walk. After the game coach Terry Hinzmann stated that Berns was the biggest key to the win.

Atlantic has won three games in a row dating back to their doubleheader sweep of Clarinda last week. The Trojans will take on Lewis Central tonight in Council Bluffs. They defeated the Titans 3-1 in the first meeting of the season.
Atlantic and Harlan move into a tie for 4th in the Hawkeye Ten Conference. Each team is 10-4 in conference play. Creston leads the league followed by Glenwood and Denison-Schleswig.
