(Neola) Griswold will travel to Tri-Center for the first round of the Western Iowa Conference Baseball Tournament tonight (Monday). The Tigers come in with a 5-8 record on the year and have earned the #6 seed in the tournament.
In two regular season meetings the squads have each won one game. Griswold topped Tri-Center on May 29th 3-2 while Tri-Center evened up the season series with their 14-3 win at Griswold last Monday. Griswold coach Kevin Whitehill says the first game his team played against Tri-Center was one of their best defensive games of the year. The Tiger Defense backed 8th grade starter James Reynolds who allowed four hits and four walks in the win. Reynolds will get the start again tonight and Coach Whitehill says one of Reynold's strengths as a pitcher is that he is so composed on the mound.
The winner of this matchup will take on either #2 seed Treynor or #7 seed Underwood in the semi-finals at Avoca on Wednesday.
