(Neola) A 2008 Tri-Center graduate will get a shot at making it to the majors. Pitcher Kurt Spomer has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Spomer holds every career pitching record at Tri-Center. He finished his high school career with an ERA of 1.96 and totaled 27 wins. In 2008 Spomer set single season records with his .98 ERA which included four shutouts as a senior. He also holds several single season and career offensive records at Tri-Center.

The former Trojan recently wrapped up a memorable collegiate career with the Creighton Blue Jays which included a second team all conference selection as a junior.
