(Audubon) AHST picked up a 12-2 victory in six innings over Audubon in a game that aired last night on KSOM.
The win for AHST was their first since June 1st and it snapped an eight game losing streak.
The Vikings fell behind 1-0 in the first inning when Audubon senior Lacy Vokt smashed a solo home run. AHST responded in the 2nd with five big runs on three hits, two walks, and one Audubon error. The Lady Vikes kept the pressure on in the third when they tacked on four more runs to take a commanding 9-1 lead. A single run in the fourth and two more in the sixth gave AHST the win via the 10 run rule.
Taylor Baggett, Marissa Kay, Caydee Woodward, Danikah Grobe, Katelyn Kay, and Cora Shumate each had at least one hit for the Lady Vikes.
Taylor Baggett struck out seven batters for her fourth win of the season. Baggett allowed five Audubon hits, issued four free passes, and got solid defense behind her.
AHST is now 4-11 with the victory and will oppose Missouri Valley on Friday. Audubon slips to 4-14 and the Wheelers host Griswold tomorrow night.
