(Oakland) Riverside enters the 2012 boys state track meet with the #1 seed in the 4X800 Meter Relay.
The Bulldogs have a total of six events that will compete on the blue oval later this week. John Gunderson, Ean Patrick (pictured), Clay Harris, and Cade Cleaveland make up the 4X800 Meter Relay group that ran an 8:16.00 at the state qualifying meet.
Two of those 4X800 Meter team members will be having a very busy weekend with Cade Cleaveland in the open 800 and 1,600. Senior John Gunderson has qualified in the 1,600 and 3,200. Cleaveland has the 2nd best time reported so far this year in both the 800 and 1,600 while Gunderson ranks 4th in the 1,600 and 11th in the 3,200.
Riverside could also get some points at the state meet in the shotput from junior Rick Williams who coach Swenson says has been consistently improving and could reach 50 feet at the state meet.
The six events this season triples the amount of events that Riverside qualified for the 2011 state meet.
