(Council Bluffs) Coming off of an 8th place finish at last year's Class 3A state meet, Atlantic Senior Tyler Hovey entered his final season with very lofty expectations.
The Iowa Central signee has thrown a season best of 170'2" which ranks 2nd best in Class 3A behind Storm Lake's Ethan Kenkel who has thrown 175'4".
Tuesday night at Lewis Central, Hovey continued his unbeaten season in the discus and also won shot put. He threw the shot 51-9.5 which was one inch shorter than his PR. In addition to winning the discus at each meet this year, Hovey has won the shotput in all but one of Atlantic's competitions.
Following the Lewis Central Meet, Hovey talked with KSOM/KS95.7 Sports about his season so far and his goals the rest of the way.
