(Elk Horn) Exira-EHK has won 15 straight games with their 47-36 win over Adair-Casey in the district semi-finals Tuesday night. The Spartans raced out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and led by as many as 15 in the first half but Adair-Casey continued to fight back throughout the game. Adair-Casey used an 8-0 run to end the first half closing the lead to seven. Exira-EHK outscored Adair-Casey 14-6 in the third quarter to reclaim a double figures lead. The Bombers though would hit back to back three pointers late in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 6 points with just over two minutes left. Exira-EHK took care of the basketball and made free-throws down the stretch to secure the 11 point win.


Exira-EHK, led by Zach Himmelburg's 22 points, improve to 21-1 this season. They will have an opportunity to avenge their only loss this season when they play CAM in the District final on Thursday. Spencer Rochholz led the way for Adair-Casey with 18 points. The Bombers season ends with a 15-8 record.
