(Creston) The Atlantic Trojan boy’s basketball team snapped a ten-year drought when they clinched the Hawkeye Ten Conference Friday night with a 57-46 win over Creston at Creston. The last time an Atlantic was a share of the conference title in the 2001-2002 season.
The Trojans started strong with a 10-2 run early and never trailed in the game played at Creston. The Trojans held quarter leads of 19-11, 30-17, 46-27, and the final 57-46. The Trojans lead by as many as 20-points with 3-minutes to go in the game before both teams cleared their benches.
Sam Markham (pictured) led all-scorers for Atlantic with 19-points, and Dalton Franken and Harrison Hoegh finished the night with 16-points each.
Colby Taylor led the Panthers with 14-points. The (7-4, 9-10), take on Harlan Tuesday. Atlantic, (11-2, 18-3), hosts Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln Tuesday night.
