(Ida Grove) The Audubon Wheeler came away with a second place finish at the tournament in 42nd Annual Herb Irgens Tournament in Ida Grove over the weekend. Don Bosco finished as the team champion. Rounding out the top four in the seven team tournament were Sergeant Bluff-Luton and South Central Calhoun.
Ten of Audubon's eleven wrestlers finished in the top six individually. Nick Fett placed first at 285. Brad Kerkhoff (106) and Cameron Mennenoh (132) each came home with 2nd place medals. Coming in third place for the Wheelers were Riley Jensen (138) and Colton Jensen (152). Andrew Malloy (113) and Jesse Svoboda (182) each finished fourth. Blair Kerkhoff placed 5th at 126 and Chase Peterson was 6th at 145.
Audubon has a big dual coming up on Tuesday with Logan-Magnolia and Riverside. The Wheelers will hold their home tournament this weekend.
