ATLANTIC-AUDUBON FINISH IN THE TOP THREE AT ADM WRESTLING TOURNAMENT


(Adel) Webster City captured the team title at the 15-team ADM Wrestling tournament in Adel Saturday. Atlantic finished second and Audubon fell right behind in Third.

 

Webster City piled up 190-points for the title. Atlantic and Audubon, despite having three open weight classes were able to scratch out 181-points, and 179-points respectively.

 

Audubon placed 6-wrestlers in the finals and produced one champion, Riley Jensen, at (138). Others finishing second were; Brad Kerkhoff, (106), Blair Kerkhoff, (126), Cameron Mennenoh, (132), Kolton Jensen, (145), and Jesse Svoboda, (182). Nick Fett, (285), was third, Dakota Christensen, (170), finished fourth, and Andrew Malloy, (113), was fifth.

Atlantic crowned three champions, Rob Young, (132), Rob Nichols, (145), and Derek Stork, (170). Stork, 27-1, (pictured at the top),  has recorded 25-pins in 28-matches which leaves him just nine pins shy of the Trojan wrestling single season pin record.  Rob Nichols, extended his record to 26-2, and Rob Young is 28-1. Other Atlantic place winners were; Dillon Cox, (113), third, Reid Nichols, (120), third, Matt Smith, (126), sixth, Matt Williamson, (170), third, Tyler Stork, (182), fourth, Tyler Christensen, (220), fourth and Austin Conrad, (285), sixth.

Red Oak Senior Seth Esaias, won the (182) pound championship and extends his record to 30-0 on the season. Esaias, pinned his way through the tournament recording his 100th  and 101st  career pins in the semi’s and finals on Saturday. Esaias, also has over 150-career wins in his illustrious four year career to-date. His teammate, Geoff Sellers, (120), finished second and the Tigers were ninth with 89-points. Other Red Oak place winners were, Tanner Mertz, (106), fifth, Dakota Petty, (113), fourth, and Jordan Verba, (195), sixth.
