(Walnut) Walnut Senior Lucas Blum scored the first five points of the game to set the tone early on, ending up with a career high 35 in Walnut's victory over Adair-Casey on Tuesday. Blum, who had never scored more than 19 points this season, knocked down five three pointers in the 69-58 win.
The game was very close for three and a half quarters but Walnut began to pull away late in the fourth quarter. In addition to Blum's big night, senior Jared Ploen scored 18 points to help the Warriors hang on for the win. Fifteen of Ploen's 18 came in the second half. Walnut improves to 5-7 on the year. The Warriors have won back to back games for the first time this season.
Adair-Casey got 16 points from Senior Cole Palmer. Palmer made four three-pointers but sat out much of the second half with foul trouble. Alex Umbaugh scored 12 for Adair-Casey and Emitt Wheatley had 11. Adair-Casey sees their four game winning streak snapped and the Bombers overall record drops to 8-3.
