(Harlan) Backed by thirty-two points from senior point guard Zach Osborn (pictured in pregame warmups), the Harlan Community Cyclones were able to edge the Kuemper Catholic Knights in a Hawkeye-10 Conference boys basketball matchup that aired on KSOM Tuesday night.
The game was close from start to finish with no team ever holding a double-digit lead and Harlan hanging on at the end for a 64-61 victory. Kuemper Catholic jumped out to a 19-14 lead after one quarter but Harlan came back to tie things at 30 all at halftime. After three quarters the game was tied at 47 and Harlan led throughout most of the fourth quarter. Kuemper's Dylan Bordernaro had a deep three point try from the right wing as time expired that was off the mark giving Harlan the 64-61 win.
Outside of Osborn's thirty-two point effort, fellow senior Seth Lansman finished with 15 points. Harlan improves to 3-1 and 3-0 in the Hawkeye 10 heading into their game with Creston on Friday. Kuemper Catholic was led by Brian Dentlinger with 19 points and Carter Daniel with 17. The Knights fall to 5-2 on the year.
