COURTNEY TWINS COMBINE FOR 42 POINTS IN GUTHRIE CENTER WIN

(Guthrie Center) One year after placing 3rd in the Class 1A state basketball tournament, the Guthrie Center boys team is off to a 4-0 start with an almost entirely new core of players. Coach Seth Poldberg says the fast start has been important for his young team.

Returning starter Adam Courtney is the teams leading scorer at over 15 points per game. His twin brother Caleb Courtney and Gavin McGiveny also average in double figures.

Caleb Courtney led the way with 22 points Tuesday night in their win over West Central Valley. Caleb Courtney made four out of his five three-point attempts in his team's 77-46 win. Adam Courtney had 20 points Tuesday night and Gavin McGiveny added 13. Guthrie Center made 10 three-pointers in the win and have hit 35 from beyond the arc in their four games this year.

They travel to Woodward Academy on Friday night.
