(Red Oak) The Atlantic Boys basketball team had another strong defensive performance Tuesday in a non-conference win over Red Oak. The Trojans held the Tigers to an average of 8-points per quarter in route to a 57-35 win at the Red Oak gym.
The Trojans went on a 7-0 run in the first quater and lead 17-9 after the first stanza, 30-18 at the half, and 39-24 at the end of three. The Tigers pulled within 8-points in the thrid quarter but the Trojans responded with another run that was lead by 6'5 Junior Dalton Franken who paced the Trojans with 20-points. Gunnar Blum, who sat out most of the first quarter because of foul problems finished with 13-points in a solid performance.
Other scorers for Atlantic were Chad Christiansen with 8-points, Sam Markham, 7, Harrison Hoegh, 6, and Blake Esbeck finished with 4-points.
Red Oak was lead in scoring by Pete Walker with 15-points, and Tanner Johson finished the night with 9. Other scorers for were Red Oak were Jesse Wilwerding 5, and Danny Carlson and Brandon Bergren finished with 2 each.
