(Atlantic) Hannah Christensen made only one basket for Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln, Tuesday night, but it proved to be the biggest shot of the game.
Atlantic lead 19-14 at the halftime break, but went cold in the third quarter. A.L. out scored the Trojanns 13-4, to take a 27-23 third quarter lead. However Atlantic, sparked by Sam McConnell’s four straight free throws, and Mackenzie Holmes 3-three-pointers regained the lead in the fourth quarter. However, A.L. battled back and to tie the game 38-38, sending it into overtime.
Atlantic lead 44-42 with just over: 20 seconds to play in overtime when Christensen stood behind the arc, and calmly knocked down a three point shot for the lead. Atlantic had a couple of chances with 12-seconds to play but couldn’t get a shot to go down before time ran out.
Delaney Bolton and Lauren Meeker lead A.L with 12-points each, Jasmyn Flynn added 7, Olivia Leisinger scored 6, and MacKenzie Bolton chipped in 5-points.
Mackenzie Holmes lead Atlantic in scoring with 14-points, Sam McConnell finished the night with 10-points, and Shelby Worth chipped in 8. Atlantic travels to Carroll on Monday night, and ADM on Tuesday.
