(Harlan) After a 15-7 season last year, the Harlan Cyclones girls basketball team will have to replace their top three scorers. The only returning starters this season are Sarah Konz, and Shelby Jacobsen. Last season it was Jacie White, Jordan Brelje, and Brooke Leinen who all averaged in double figures scoring to lead the team, but they have all graduated. Several players who saw varsity action will play much larger roles this season. Some of the key returning varsity players include Konz, Jacobsen, Josie Esser, Brianna Vis, Liz Riessen, Kelsey Croghan, and Jessica Farrell.
The Cyclones will have to rely on a much younger team this season, but coach Vis says they do have some talent in their younger classes. Some of those younger players include the five freshman who played in the state volleyball tournament this season.
Harlan will have the Cyclone Jamboree on Thursday. The first game of the regular season is November 29th against Treynor.
