(Corning) The Corning Red Raiders cross country runners compted last night at the Clarke Invitational. Running without their top runner, Kristin Carmichael, the girls team was still able to come away with a second place finish.
Tiffany Shepherd claimed the individual title. Shepherd's winning time of 15:12 was nearly a half minute ahead of the second place runner. Also in the top ten was Stephanie Schuler. Schuler's time of 16:19 was good enough for 7th place. Two other runners finished in the top 15 for the Red Raiders. Darien Keefe and Taylor Guale went 12th and 13th respectively. Corning finished just nine points behind the Girls Team Champion Davis County.
Leading the way for the Corning boys was Lane Petersen. Petersen placed 12th with a time of 20:08.
