(Elk Horn) Exira-EHK sophomore Nick Peppers ran for over 200 yards and recorded 18 tackles in the Spartans win against Van Meter during Week 4 of the high school football season. For that effort, Peppers earns the KSOM Athlete of the Week award.
Nick Peppers, a sophomore fullback and linebacker for the Exira-EHK Spartans, led the way with 211 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries in Exira-EHK’s 41-33 victory against Van Meter. Peppers also led the team in receiving last week grabbing three passes for 51 yards, but it’s not just the offensive numbers that made Peppers stand out on Friday night. Defensively Peppers had a big night with 18 tackles and 3 sacks.
For the season, Peppers is second best in the district with 59 tackles through 4 games and fifth best in the district in rushing yardage with 267. He has helped lead Exira-EHK to a 3-1 record entering district play.
