(Clarinda) In their first meet of the season, the Tigers girls cross country team came away with a second place finish. The Tigers were nine points shy of first place Shenandoah at last nights meet in Clarinda. They were led by a great performance from freshman Rebekah Topham (pictured) who placed first overall. Topham toured the course in just 15:41. She finished well ahead of 2nd place Kristen Carmichael (16:36) of Corning.
The Tigers also got a 7th place finish from Jordyn Sindt. Larrissa Backhaus came in 18th with Alyx Flippin placing 22nd and Bailey Powers was Griswold’s 5th scoring runner at 26th place.
Griswolds boys team was led by Xavier Olivio who placed 16th. Olivio ran a time of 19:12. Other scoring runners for the Griswold boys include: Tyrel Peters 48th, Mason Anstey 58th, Zak Doty 59th, and Logan Potter 65th. Griwold places 8th as a team with 246 points.
