(Oakland) Riverside junior running back Clay Harris is the KSOM Athlete of the Week.
Harris rushed for 147 yards including a 63 yard touchdown in Riverside’s season opening win last Friday night. Harris averaged over 11 yards per carry in the Bulldogs 36-14 victory over West Monona.
Riverside head coach Burke Swenson says Harris has a combination of speed and power and fits well with what the team wants to do in the running game. Coach Swenson also says Harris’s hard work has set him apart. Harris is also the team’s backup quarterback but according to coach Swenson he is too talented to not find a spot for him on the field.
