(Guthrie Center) Guthrie Center cross country coach Dave Spratte says five girls and eight boys are out for cross country this fall. The girls team is expected to be led by Therese Frels and Leah Courtney. Both were state track qualifers in the spring and could compete for spots in the state cross country meet this fall. Coach Spratte says that the depth is the biggest strength of the boys cross country team with eight runners competing this year. The first meet of the year for the Guthrie Center Tigers will be at the Dallas Center-Grimes invitational.
