(Kimballton) Rachel Smith has tossed another perfect game. The Exira-EHK junior star allowed no hits, no walks, and no runs in a Spartan 2-0 win over Glidden-Ralston. It was her 2nd perfect outing of the year.
Smith now has six no hitters on the season and is allowing only 1.3 his per game and 1.2 walks per game. She hasn't given up an earned run all season and if she were to allow an earned run in her next inning pitched it would raise her ERA to just 0.06. With 219 strikeouts, Smith leads Class 1A in that category.
Maggie Rasmussen had the big hit to break a scoreless tie. Rasmussen singled in Smith and Sophia Peppers in the bottom of the 6th inning for the game's only two runs.
Exira-EHK bounces back from their first loss of the season the previous night to Charter Oak-Ute. The Spartans are now 17-1 on the year.
