(Harlan) The Harlan Cyclones (12-4 overall) continue to churn out Hawkeye 10 Conference Baseball wins. They've won six consecutive conference contests and are 10-2 in the league.
Last night's win was a big one, 7-6, over Denison-Schleswig. The loss for the Monarchs drops them to 7-3 in the league. Harlan matches up with Lewis Central tonight. The Titans still have a chance to win the league, they are 7-4. St. Albert also has just two conference losses after sweeping a doubleheader at Atlantic Monday. Glenwood (7-6), Creston (6-6), and Atlantic (7-6) remain alive in the hunt.
Coach Steve Daeges says his team battled back after falling behind early. They broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the bottom of the 6th and held on for the win. Coach Daeges says defense and throwing strikes have been the keys to success for the team this season.
