(Atlantic) Atlantic swept St. Albert in a softball doubleheader Monday night at Atlantic.
The Trojans put the first game away in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring 12 runs on 11-hits.Fifteen batters went to the plate. Emily Mitchell, went three for three to lead the Trojans in hitting. Mitchell scored two runs and drove in another. Brooke Newell smacked two doubles, Erin Olsen, Leah Tpjekes, and Tori Bruck had two hits each. Molle Welter, Tori Bruck, Gabby Jordahl, Alexis Handel, and Marin Mcnees each had one hit. Tori Bruck pitched the four-inning shut-out, striking out four batters and allowed no walks.
In the second game, the Trojans scored 13 runs on 12 hits. Atlantic scored six runs in the bottom of the first, plated a run in the second, and finished with six runs in the bottom of the third to win 13-1.
Erin Olsen, Leah Tjepkes, Brooke Newell and Tori Bruck had two-hits a piece. Emily Mitchell, Mollee Welter, Tori Bruck, Gabby Jordahl, Alexis Handel, and Maren Mcnees had one hit each.
Ally Anderson picked up the win for the Trojans. Anderson struck out six batters, allowed on earned run, and walked no one.
