POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY RESIDENT SENTENCED TO 109 MONTHS FOR CONSPIRING TO DELIVER MARIJUANA
(COUNCIL BLUFFS) Council Bluffs man sentenced to prison for conspiring to deliver marijuana.
On July 18, Michael Tracy Snuttjer was sentenced to 109 months imprisonment for Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana. United States District Judge James Gritzner also ordered Snuttjer to serve a four year term of supervised release following incarceration.
On March 3, Snuttjer had entered a guilty plea in Federal Court in Council Bluffs, to Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana beginning as early as October, 2006, to on or about October, 2010, in the amount of 100 kilograms or more.
The investigation by law enforcement determined that Snuttjer was obtaining marijuana from Mexico and having it shipped or driven to the Council Bluffs area. In addition to being sentenced to 109 months, Snuttjer forfeited to the United States two Omaha, Nebraska condominiums, located in Omaha, as well as cash and other property.
The investigation was conducted by the South West Iowa Narcotics Task Force, the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement, Department of
Homeland Security- Enforcement and Removal Operations, Internal Revenue Service and the
Drug Enforcement Administration, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s
Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
