HOMECOMING CEREMONY SET FOR SOUTHWEST IOWA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD UNIT
(Shenandoah) Homecoming ceremonies are set today for three Iowa Army National Guard units mobilized as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Companies B and C, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division will be held at 11:30 a.m. in Grimes, and 3:30 p.m. in Shenandoah.
The Shenandoah ceremony includes Detachment 1, Company B based in Council Bluffs and Corning.
The units arrived in Afghanistan in November 2010, where the soldiers provided full spectrum operations in a combat theater, including lethal and non-lethal capabilities, support to Afghan National Army Police units, and assistance to humanitarian relief initiatives’.
