HARKIN ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $5 MILLION FOR HOUSING IN IOWA
(WASHINGTON DC) Senator Tom Harkin today announced that 48 Iowa Public Housing Agencies will receive a total of $5,049,415. The funding comes from the Department of Housing and Urban Development though the Capital Fund Program, which provides for the financing, development and improvement of public housing in communities across the country.
In southwest Iowa, the Afton Housing Commission will receive $31,136; Corning Housing Commission, $43,361; and Stanton Housing Commission, $18,836. Low Rent Housing Agencies receiving fund; Clarinda, $72,721; Essex, $14,187; Lenox, $27,293; Farragut, $19,825; Hamburg, $23,391; Missouri Valley, $48,538; Mount Ayr, $24,253; Onawa, $58,215; Red Oak, $47,638; Sidney, $18,318; Winterset,$41,850; Malvern, $18,196; Shenandoah, $75,028; Tabor, $20,129; and Villisca, $43,852. The Municipal Housing Agency in Council Bluffs will receive $290,779 and Manning, $26,383.
