(Des Moines) The Emerald Ash Borer has been detected in two new locations in Iowa.
The experts had warned that the destructive Emerald Ash Borer would eventually make its way across the state and there is new evidence that prediction is coming true. State Ag Officials say the Emerald Ash Borer has been detected in a tree in Eddyville in Wapello County and in trees in Waverly in Bremer County.
Officials have issued a statewide quarantine that restricts moving certain woods from Iowa into non-quarantined areas of other states. Eight counties in Iowa have confirmed infestations of the Emerald Ash Borer.
