(Des Moines) Kenny Podrazik with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the freezing rain forecast for the area this morning has moved off to the east.
“That first band has already moved east of your area so it looks like you are probably out of the woods for the moment and it looks like you are going to get more snow than anything,” stated Podrazik.
However, a Winter Weather Advisory is still in effect until noon today for the entire area with generally one-to-two inches of snow expected by midday with the higher end of that range occurring to the east.
The winds will turn westerly by late this morning with a high in the mid-forties forecast for this afternoon.
